I love surf music that is done this well; I also love that they added the lead break for Deep Purple's "Highway Star" as the lead section in "Highway to Cairo". If you love modern surf music, then this album is your next favorite album.

I just received my vinyl copy of 1961 in the post today and it's spinning on the platter as I type. Oh the twang. I absolutely love this album. And the fact that I can listen to it on vinyl makes it even better!

Although I normally like to play music in mixes of 3-5 artists at a time, the "long track" on this album actually works better than all the songs played separately and mixed with other music. Some great psychedelic and surf guitar work on here. If you like this, try Golden Dawn Arkestra and Ouzo Bazooka.
